I know the 2000 and 2001 S2000s have a plastic rear windshield, but how does this winshield do in the winter months w/o a rear defroster?

I want to purchase a 2000 or 2001 to save money, but I may have to get a 2002 if there is a problem with visibility on the plastic windshield.

Also, how does the cloth top do in winter months? Does it allow cold air in? My car will be a daily driver, so this is very important to me.

Get the 2002. The plastic is a PITA to deal with.... It is very easy to get scratched up.

 

definitely get the 02. you wont save too much $ if you get the 00-01, you will have less headache later on. the plastic windows is not all that bad, but it takes someone maticulate to take of it..

 

i've seen '00 and '01's going for about 26,000-27,500.

How much would a used 02 go for?

 

I hate the plastic window! I love silverstone, and you can't get that in an 02. I haven't seen sebring in person, but the pictures make my unhappy. I was in Indianapolis and in the winter the top did not give me trouble. The tires are another thing. The Potenza 02's are not happy campers on rain or snow... I'm now in California and take 15mph corners at 45
