S2000 roll bar, is it just fake plastic or is there some steel in there?
The roll bars (plastic things behind the seats) of my S seem a bit flimsy and cheap. Are there real roll bars inside the plastic or are these just for show?
I can

If you do a search you'll find several threads referring to this same subject. Several people have even torn apart the hoops to put in full roll-cages and can confirm that there is steel in the hoops.
Also, there are some pics of a clear S2000 that was used on the show circuits years back that was used to display the chassis and roll protection.
The hoops are steel and bolt behind the seats into the structure of the car...

[QUOTE]The windshield surround is specially strengthened by a tubular brace. The Integrated roll bars are made of 1.5 inch diameter high-strength pipe with a .08 inch wall thickness. The roll bars are securely anchored to the high X-bone floor frame. The reinforced door pillars, and reinforced windshield posts and windshield frame all contribute to the car meeting the Federal standards for occupant protection in a rollover accident
