S2000 safety
I've had 2 bad accidents in the S2000, one from the front, and one from the rear. Not my fault BTW on either one.
in both cases the car was totalled. I walked away both times with no scratches whatsoever. I'm on my third S2000 now, a 2002 blue one.

people have rolled their S2000 10 times, or gone off a canyon road, rolled down a 20 foot cliff, landed upside down, with the top down, and walked away.

"Everyone on here can attest to seeing numerous nasty looking crashes in the S.. the car can be completely and utterly mangled and destoryed, flipped, and run into a tree.. yet the occupants always walk away with very little injury."
Not always, I'm sad to say. About a year ago, somebody died driving his S2000 in the Santa Cruz mountains of Northern California. Also, I remember seeing pics of a severely damaged S2K on these forums recently and the driver was said to have died. That said, it does seem our little cars are better than average in this respect. I'd still hate to tangle with an SUV

From the stories that I have read on this board I believe that the S is safe for what it is being a small roadster, but I wish that the the hwy safety institute or whatever that private organization is called, would crash the S to see what kind of rating they would give it. I don't think that's going to happen anytime soon though.
