Default s2000 shift knob threading

hi all,

i purchased a shift knob from a member here for my s2k. his s2k was '00 and mine is an '01. the threads on the shift knob do not fit this shifter at all. the threads on the knob are bigger then the ones on my stock shifter. my stock shift knob fits fine. was there a difference in the shift knob thread sizes between the two years? this knob fits my cousins vette fine but he already has the same on on it.

The threads never changed. Sounds like someone sold you a knob for another car.

ok, i made a stupid mistake. i didn't realize that the thread on the shifter was grossly crossthreaded/destroyed. i cut the top of the shifter off, rethreaded and now it fits fine. i'm an idiot. thank you "mustangkiller" for being understanding! item was in great condition.
