S2000 Slot Shifter?
I am very surprised to hear that there is actually interest in this. I have heard that people "put up" with this shifter simply because it is what Ferrari does. I would think that this might turn out to be a very poor performing mod since the plate would allow no "slop" in your shifting pattern, you would no doubt hear clicking noises as the shifter bumps into the plate, you would have to finish the shifter shaft to make it look more presentable next to the polished/chrome shift plate. Seems like a lot of work to make something almost perfect work (potentially)far worse than stock. JMO.
dlq04,
I'm with you. Maybe it's that I have never had a six speed before, but sometimes I have no clue what gear I am in. I am a new owner (2 weeks or so) but I have shifted from 5th to 4th, while trying to go to 6th several times now. The gears are so close and the rev range so broad that I lose track of where im at on the shifter. A split second conformation would be nice. I think I would be OK with my shifting speed a tiny bit slower if I had the advantage of being sure where I was on the gears and where I was going. Plus I think it would look cool as hell. If it sucks, it wouldn't be to hard to reverse the mod. Just my 2 liters worth.
