understandable...who do I go to have one of the big wigs revamp or at least consider revamping the search function? Would making a "poll" help?

Needs one more option on the poll...

"I'm either a veteran or a noob, If we had a better/updated search function on this forum then we wouldn't have to ask the same question several times."

The search function on this forum incredibly underdeveloped...I would rather google it than perform a search on s2ki. My $0.02

I know most noobs don't read the stickies (or much of anything), but can you make it more obvious to them that they can use google to search the site?

Put this in google-> search goes here site:s2ki.com

Or something like this:

i think it's important to understand something, some folks may never have had experiences with car forums. I had never joined a car forum or even belonged to a forum of any type, so my forum etiquette is obviously not going to be on par with some of you veterans. It's important to be tolerant to newbies and noobies...lol. I'm sure a lot of people who don't have great communication skills might be intimated if other members are mocking or condescending.

Not quite a noob not quite a veteran. I have been posting in various forums for quite some time and some of the things said can drive you nuts at times. However some of these can lead to various older topics being linked and that can indeed help some of the newbies out. I do believe that of course the search engine does need a revamp but for the time being I will usualy try both and see if i can come up with the answer im looking for. If not it always leads to a good read. For thoes that dont like spending the time to search and READ the posts to see if anything was mentioned or linked that may help them, nothing you do would really stop them from causing headachs somehow or another.

I don't mind answering some repetitive questions but some like what should I buy or which color is best get VERY old lol.
Also the search has been down a lot so searching was not an option for a good while.

im not a "newb" but im far from a vet.
i dont mind answering same'ol questions. newbs have to know TO search. a lot of them don't know about the faq's the stickies or even how to work the search feature. now if its a habitual offense, thats a different story.
