What a great read. From start to finish.
For anyone reading this now, the OP no longer has the S2000.. traded it in long ago.

If you want to read the "sequal", it is here.
It might tow it but it sure wont stop it very fast. Its like a train the corgo weighs more than the engine pulling it. Umm 2800lbs pulling 3000lbs you can do the math. But im not nocking it it is cool that it did pull it out of the water.

Actually, the S2000's brakes and sticky tires were totally adequate for stopping the heavy load. I honestly believe that it stopped better than my '99 Tahoe did.

So dead-bird, what make of trailer is that and how much does it weigh? Might be handy for a top down road trip to the west coast.

I used to tow the horse float/trailer behind my TR7.
Over 400 Lbs. lighter, half the power, no more torque although at a lower RPM, & over a ton with 1 horse, & 1.5 ton with 2. Never had a problem, & did it for years.
As for brakes, anyone who uses more than 25% braking when towing is a dill. With a horse you will throw them off their feet, with a boat or a van, sooner or later the thing is going to come past you, & tow you down the road.
