S2000 will come under fire in 2003
If only you all had the pleasure of driving a turbocharged S2000. With 4 PSI (260 RWHP) and boost at about 3200 RPM's the only thing about the car that has changed is that you don't have to 'search' for the power. The car pulls beautifully from about 3000 RPM's up to 9000 RPM's. It's almost like VTEC is always on tap, my own sort of I-VTEC if you will.
whoever said cars are like computers every few years there is something bigger and badder..... but remember when you're looking at HP numbers that's all at the flywheel, Honda's typically lose what -- 15-20% to the wheels... not that it's not impressive, but with the cost overruns on the Z... just like we had with the s2000, dealers marking them up.... throw the extra money into a SC and some other upgrades and you're still gonna give most cars a good run... and CLK32, is one bad ass car --- but since I have a convertible already, I just placed my order for an M3.... too bad I have to wait 13 months... oh well, hopefully the market will recover by then and it'll be less of a hit

The rumor is that the 350Z will have 300hp. Nissan powertrain engineers, however, say that that is pretty much all they can get out of the motor.
They are concerned performance won't be high enough, so are trying to get weight down to about 3000lb. That's a 10:1 weight to power ratio, which would make one fast car. They are also considering some kind of turbo version further down the road.
Lots of great cars about to hit the market, that's for sure.

And all the Nissan cars.. YES even the Skyline have shitty resale value. Honda has better resale EVEN IN JAPAN. Have you ever been to Japan recently??
I was there 4 months ago and even my uncle, who works and lives in Japan confirms this. Like I said before, YOU are the one living in the past. Sorry to say but the truth hurts. Everything you have said so far is speculation, do you have timeslips to prove that it (S15) would hand the S2000 it's ass? That is what I thought, you DON'T. Everything you say is pure speculation and are just opinions with nothing to really back them up.
Don't get me wrong, I love the Silvia, especially the spyder version as well as the turbo. But fact is fact, Nissan is no longer the top dog in Japan.
So what if Nissan makes two good motors, Honda has a few good motors of their own in the N/A arena. I also have a Maxima and I agree that the VQ is a sweet motor but saying it is the best motor in the world is just an opinion, not a fact. I think it's a great motor as well but I would never put it out like it was fact as you have because I know that is just my opinion.
I have to say that Douglas2000 has a point there. I live in Tokyo, and just bought a second hand S2000. These are keeping their values WAY stronger than any other manufacturer here. As KOBE about it. He just bought a new S2000 from Honda becuase second hand they have only lost around 15 - 20%, even in 18 months.
Also NSX's keep their values much better than the Skyline GTR.
