These are illegal in most states IIRC because they destroy the pavement in places where there is no ice/snow. Just a heads up

There might be some places where they're illegal, I'm not sure, but I know there are of areas of the country where you are required to have chains in bad weather conditions. They set up checkpoints and will not let you on the road without chains (Though sometimes just 4wd is enough).

Here's a state by state list of snow chain laws from Thule (who make snow chains): http://www.rackattack.com/mfg-extras/thule...regulations.pdf

Not sure how up to date it is, but that should give you a general idea. There actually isn't a single state that outlaws them during winter weather events, according to that list. Even if it's not illegal, you shouldn't drive with them on bare pavement anyway. It's bad for the chains.

Never used to. I think it's stupid personally.

When I drove FWD cars, I could drive in snow like that video with All Season Tires and no chains.

With the S I can drive *almost* like that with studdless winter tires and no chains.

I think chains are worthless most of the time.

Yup. Winter tires, even with that snow storm that just raped this region (Midwest).

The S took it all like a champ.
