Melodic Bliss, those 3 you saw on the 405 the other day, I was in a group of 3 (1 yellow, 2 black) on our way south (at least near the HB area) after the Santa Monica get-together....

Will we like our cars as much when we are passing each other everyday?

Absolutely!

In Florida and Virginia people complement the car constantly and often tell me that they almost never see S2's. In Boca (believe it not) Boxsters are everywhere. They're like mustangs in Va.... everywhere. Usually older men driving them. Ya know my other auto is a Mercedes or Jag type thing.

Chicks love the S2 so don't fight it!

The wife and I were in the Northeast a couple of years ago. The car that we saw everywhere was the Saab (I remember when Saabs had 2 cycle engines). I hardly ever see one in my area, and there aren't too many that I see in all of S. CALIF. But Saab must have a great dealer and advertising campaign in Maine! So, does this create a new post possibility - S2000 or Saab 9000 Turbo? I DON'T THINK SO.

Sounds like the S2000 is really favored where the top-down experience can be enjoyed. Can you ever put the top down in the northeast? I'm kidding - it's a great way to enjoy the fall colors and mild summer days. I'm thinking the S2000 is great anywhere except for the north and South Pole - and there you'd need the hard top!

On Honda's web site they have posted that they sold 5031 S2000's in the US through the end of May. Add to this the 958 that SteveUCI found out were sold in June and that gives us a total of 5989 for the first six months of the year. I'd be willing to bet that Honda easily sells 10k by the end of the year.

Bedford is fairly small, what used to be called a "bedroom" suburb of Dallas/Fort Worth. Besides my red, I've seen another red (Molly W.), a silver and a yellow here, plus numerous others in outlying areas.

I just want to say, you guys are crazy if you think the S2k is becoming common. Next time you are out, count the number of Boxsters you see, Accords, Civics, etc. It is by no means common, even if they bring 10,000 a year for the next 5 years it still won't be common, just enjoyed more. Then we will have 600 cars at our events.

There are many hundreds in the Dallas area. When we were dealing with the dealers to get a club started the local sales count was over 200 back in March '00.
