S2000's are now quite common
I keep seeing that one Silverstone(mine!) everywhere I go. Often, I find myself just standing there staring at it, even though I'm supposed to be doing something else. When the hardtop is on, and I happen to approach it from certain angles, I freeze in place and go into a kind of trance for a minute because it is so just right.

As for the White numbers - I have never seen one in the flesh only on S2KI. I fear (not) this will by my replacement for my Berlina Black in a year or so - just need to touch one to see if its right.
Based on the latest U.S. cars sales stats (July '02), Honda sells about as many S2000s in the U.S. as Porsche sells all variants of Boxsters.
S2000 unit sales YTD 2002: 6275 (down 6.9% from YTD last year)
Boxster (all models) unit sales YTD 2002: 6717 (down 22.5% from YTD last year)

Porsche: http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/020801/atth028_1.html
Near me, Boxsters are a dime a dozen and there are getting to be quite a few S2000s. I used to play "try to spot an S2000 each week". Now the game is, "can I pass a day without seeing one?" This is not necessarily bad - every new S2000 means one less SUV-like-obstacle on the road...
Also, here's an interesting press release called "Honda Concedes It Falls Short in Satisfying Customers". It's about the dealers...

Yeah, I see a lot of yellow S2K's. I prolly see on average 2-3 per month--oh wait--I do see one everyday--MINE! hee hee
I commute about 50 miles to work each day. Middletown NY to Rte 301 by Fahenstock Park Putnam Valley NY. I usually see at least 3 or 4 a week besides mine (white/red). I have seen a silver one in Middletown on several occasions (the same one). I have seen a different silver one at the intersection of RT9 and 301 in Putnam county, on several occasions. I've only seen another white one 2 different times.
The drivers/owners of the other cars always wave its kinda cool, like we're old friends or something.
The only other time I experience this is when I ride my Shadow VLX deluxe vt600cd.
I have 4 in the company garage - 1 black (mine) 2 silver and 1 yellow. Naturally I was the first
On the road I will see one every day and that's about it. It will be rare to see more than 1.
They used to import only 30 a month into Australia, I'm not sure of the current figure but it does make them nice and rare compared to Miata, Boxster, MGF, Alfa Spyder and Z3.
