S2000's are now quite common
I live on an island and recently met the other person who owns an S here. We occasionally see each other in a parking lot where I work sometimes and where she goes to the health club. I still get lots of stares, pointings,"Nice car" to the point where I actually feel self consious sometimes. Its great fun and I love every minute I drive it.
The only one I've seen so far was on a trip to Minneapolis. A car was coming in the opposite direction. I thought, "Man, that is a sweet looking car." You can't imagine the shit-eating grin I had when I realized it was an S.

There are currently 21 S2000's for sale on eBay. This seems like a high number for a car that has only been out for a few years, with a relatively low production. Any explanation?

Here in McLean, VA, there are at least 4 S2ks downstairs in the company parking garage (Yellow, Black, Silverstone, Sebring). Outside of the work building, I see 5 to 7 a week. Yellow seems to be the most common in the No.Va area. Silverstone is second. I do agree that White S2ks are least seen.
In the Tysons/DC/MD area, S2ks are less common than a Corvette ragtop, but far more common compared to Integra Type-Rs. What is rare are the 1997-98 Type-R's in Championship White. Also, 2002 VW GTI 337's tend to be rare.
