Default S2000's for under MSRP

I have noticed through previous boards it is now quite common to find 2002's for under MSRP usually around $500-$1000 and not only in the Northeast and Chicago. However, I will be making my purchase in November when the 2003's are out. Could I expect to be able to pay under MSRP for 2003's or is this discount being made given the fact that the 2003's are just a month away? What price should I aim for the 2003, settle for MSRP or will I be able to get it under MSRP. Thanks

PS -- I live in South Florida

If I was to guess, it would be this...

1. 2003's are comming
2. in stock and need to move
3. The 350Z is here
4. The Z4 is comming
5. and Winter is comming
6. 4th model year

All of these might be in your favor, but only time till tell. Your in FL so Item does not impact you. I shopped hard for 3 months to get the price I got. Many of the board member payed over MSRP, and had forced options (Dealer add-ons) and love the car anyway. So good hunting.

If you shop around and have patience, you should be able to pay less than MSRP. I was able to get a near-MSRP deal at the end of '99 between Christmas and New Years. That is an extremely slow time for car sales, so if you can wait an extra month, you should be able to negotiate more to your benefit. Remember, it's your money and the dealer wants it.

I purchased my car at Coral Springs Honda, but the salesman that worked with me has left the business. Some other Florida members have had good success at Maroone. If you do a search for "Maroone" in the Florida forum, you'll get some good info on contacts.

I live in the Fort Lauderdale area - check out the Florida forum as we have several fun events coming up.

Shop for a "left-over" 2002. Unless you want an '03 in white or Silverstone, you aren't missing out on anything. MSRP on a 2002 should be an achievable goal. 2003's will always run a little more.

Don't know about 2003's - has Honda even announced the
pricing? I picked up a blue '02 for $1,800 under MSRP just
before labor day in Milwaukee. Chicago pricing was about
the same. Shop the internet. Hit the dealer web sites and
e-mail the internet sales manager and you should be able
to do well.

2003 is $200 more for MSRP. Have a look at Honda website. They've updated the page for the 2003 model.

In the sunbelt states, they are going to make you pay. You may want to come up north to buy one.
