Neighbor, firefighter, just bought a new Tacoma off the dealer lot. A 2 year old Tacoma was selling for $400 more than what he paid for the brand new one. Even the salesman said it was nuts.
The S is one of the last real manual sports cars that is a real sports car and not controlled to death by computers. Does not even have some nav system. Pretty easy to work on. Nice trunk size for get always. Transmission is beautiful and the engine cannot be beat. Not as expensive as the manual air cooled P cars it seems everybody and their mother wants.
I have a great time driving this car especially top down on the many roads Northern California/Oregon/Washington/Nevada have to offer. Wife and I will blast off in the thing just for the joy of the drive and going someplace scenic. Not to mention a nice B&B.
Cosmo, your pics are always like a travelogue of California! Where was the first one taken? I lived in the Bay Area for 5 years. Moved away in 1990 and STILL miss it!
A little bit, but not so much. Kilometers on the clock, accident free, good conditon are the key points here.
Have a look, 25 S2000 for sale in Germany at the Moment: https://suchen.mobile.de/fahrzeuge/s...r=false&vc=Car
That seems expensive compared to private sale in the U.S. and higher even than Bring A Trailer pricing, considering the mileage and asking prices.

I actually live east of Sacramento in the foothills of the Sierras. The first picture is Kings Canyon National Park (east of Fresno). You know the rest: Highway 1, Death Valley, Seal Point (HWY 1).
We often stay at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey for a base of operations. Also at the Coast Guard Training Center west of Petaluma. Great places for Hwy1. We live in a spot where it is so easy to hit the two lane road someplace. It is one of the big reasons we don't leave this state like you!

Do those mobile.de prices include VAT?
There is no VAT for sale between "private persons" here. On the other hand., if you buy it from a dealer, the prices are allways including VAT.
Makes no difference for the buyer, the prices they ask are the one you actually have to pay. Sort of. After price negotiation.
The top - examples from the honda dealer who ask about 30.000 are offerd since years... But the others seem to sell.
Do you guys think prices for used, non-collector (i.e. low miles) S2Ks will return to more reasonable prices in the future?? Or am I just be stuck paying low 20s for a 100k+ miles car..

Is a +100k miles S2k (but very clean, all panel vins present, stock) really worth 20s?
If yes, I never knew that.
I'd be happy to sell my aging, but mint, GPW Tan MY03 127k miles for a 2022 GR86, lol.
(in a new car - no need to worry about the aging bushings, rubber bits, engine mounts, clutch, wheel bearings, engine sensors, engine or mechanical parts, seals, etc., etc., etc.)

If you get that much for it, then that's how much it's worth. At least to that buyer.
In Canada, prices are all over the place. The average price I see now is way up over the last few years for sure. Even 150k km examples are going for more than I paid for mine last summer (80k km's). There's some priced so high that many here would roll their eyes at the listing, but is the price really "stupid" if someone has the money and is willing to pay? You only live once, and if an s2k is what you want then more power to you, but you're at the mercy of a hot market.
At the time, I still had to pay more than I originally budgeted, but I wanted one that badly so there we go. I knew that if I waited I would be priced outta the market, and that's definitely what happened. I am very grateful I just barely squeezed onto the train!
The fact that mine is now certainly worth more than I paid is of little consequence to me, as I would only sell it if I was destitute... its been a dream car of mine since I was a young man. None of the other similar cars mentioned in this thread do it for me at all, so I'd "overpay" (in the eyes of some) for an s2k all day long.
In fact, I'd rather prices DROP so that I could buy another one for the "free" and easy spare parts. I'll be driving mine till I'm an old old man and then give it to my son.
The Kool-Aid is flowing well in New Zealand now. I watched an auction close out last night on a 2007 SSM AP1 with 16K miles on it. Spirited bidding towards the end and it went for $US41,200. A couple of days ago a 2006 BB AP2 with 13K miles on it was listed, and it immediately went to $US50,300. This one is quite rare here though, as one of only about 18 AP2s in the country.
The S2000 is not in a bubble price-wise. You have a finite supply the numbers are getting lower each year due to thefts and crashes etc. Prices won't go down, if you are lucky they may level off but not likely. There is no real chance of a replacement model from Honda despite all of the stupid teaser reports that are as phony as three-dollar bills. The lucky few who own these cars should enjoy them and use them as intended as they aren't meant to be in a museum. They are a good investment too.
