Default S2k everyday?

Hello,

I am sorry if this topic has been discussed before or if I am posting in the wrong forum. I currently drive an RSX-S and I am seriously considering switching to an S2K. This would be my only car and I commute around 80 miles a day. I also live in NJ and the winters here have been a little harsh lately. After that long into, my question is; how is it to live with the S2k as a daily driver? How is it in rough weather? I know it is a light weight rear wheel drive coupe, but do you think I could manage?

Thanks in advance for any advice,
triggs

I heard the S2k will drive fine in snow with dedicated snow tires.

S2K will drive fine. But I think the question is do you want to travel in inclement weather for 80 miles a day.

I drive 10 miles a day and the snow is no problem.

Creature comfort is minimal, just something to think about especially with such a long commute.

80 miles in NJ = 5 hours ? Just kidding.

You can do a search. This topic gets discussed every year about this time.

How manageable it will be is going to depend on the person, how far they have to commute, and how much space they need.

I love driving my S2000 every day. I put it away for a month last year, but decided I missed driving it too much. I put snow tires on it and got around just fine.

We have a guy comes to work everyday with his S2K.
It's definitely depends on your tolerance.
I have a hard time getting used to sitting in a S2k.

Can you picture yourself drive a F1 everyday to work?

Thanks for the replies guys. It's good to know that w/ snow tires winter shouldn't be too much of a hassle. Like I said before I currently drive an rsx-s, and I am looking for a little more ( I am a little bored with it) and I am wondering if a used s2k would be a good fit for me. So please keep the opinions coming.

Thanks again,
triggs

why wouldnt a used s2k be a good fit for you? imo just get an 02 or newer model and you should be just dandy!

come on it doesn't snow that much in nj...plus rwd is fun to drive in the snow. my friend has an rsx type s and he says that the s really isn't much faster than his car. i don't know since i've never driven one.
obviously there are other things about the s that may make you want to convert though.

I've raced type-S's and the S isn't oodles faster. But probably loads more fun to drive. (I also haven't driven a type-S)

Good luck with what you decide!

My commute is about 80 miles a day. But in the SF Bay Area we don't have snow so much to worry about during the winter. While I love driving the S2000, I tend to baby it and just drive the 4Runner the majority of the time to and from work, and let the S2000 be the Friday-Sunday car.
