to compare the 360 vs s2000 is just plain silly IMHO.
hmm... i actually thought s2000 handles better and quicker than 360 in relatively lower (under 70 or so?) speeds.
modena is not that much fun going street speeds. (well, than again, what car is fun in legal speeds. )

above 80 tho, now that's not even comparable.

The rest of your post does a good job of keeping us down to earth, but you don't think 4WS and AWD helps in the slalom? I'd expect 4WS to help with keeping a tighter line, and perhaps AWD also.
My bad, I missed the slalom part and focused on the skid-pad part.

The mid engine exotics like the NSX ... are more nimble than the s2000 due to their central moment of yaw.
the nsx does NOT even come close the the nimbleness of the S2000, 360 is close but that car is just amazing that I am willing to overlook any short comings

Another example - Mitsubishi's 3000GT VR-4, which weighed 3800 lbs, pulled better skidpad and slalom numbers than an S2000 simply because it has AWD, huge tires, and 4-wheel steering.
I have NEVER heard of a VR4 pulling a better skidpad number than an s2000. I have seen .87 for that car, no higher. It's common to see the 04 s2000 pull .89, and I've seen the 00-03 years pull even higher than that at .92 As for the slalom, I doubt that too...the VR4 is a great car but it's a TANK.

well even if all you can afford is an s2000, it doesnt mean you have to be without the experience of an exotic.

just save up alittle bit of scratch, and go to an exotic rental place. that way you can have the experience if you want w/o the fantastic pricetag of committing to a purchase
Ah...but the taste of honey is worse than none at all my friend.

Surely 1g is the force of gravity that we all are exposed to on a day to day basis?

0g (Or close to)is what you get on the moon.
1/6 g is what you get on the moon. 0 g is what you get in space. You are correct about the 1 g thing.

I must admit I thought this was a stupid post at first but then I though about it and I did take a oldman in 2000 911 non-turbo to school on a backroad and we also raced the 1/4 right after and he wasn`t that much infront of me I think he only beat be by like 2 or 3 cars

Non of it was planned I was just out driving on a back road and he got on my ass so I punched it and he stayed with me threw a couple of turns. But when I got a a few real windy ones I started pulling away slighty but on a strate aways he would catch up and try to pass me until another turn came up...As soon as we got off the back road it broke into to lanes where he did finaly pass me at about 100 and we met up at a stoplight and raced about a 1/4 from there.....So I gotta say the S2 is really not a game ...After that I saw him at the local car wash and he pulled in and asked me if the car was the new Boxster I said no and when he saw The Honda Symbol he looked shocked and said I didn`t know Honda made a convertable and then we talked for a few (Turned out to be a cool guy) ...I try to talk to people after I race them to see what they have to say.

I`ve seen a 95 Rx7 pull 96 on the skidpad-I though that was pretty bad ass.

ok, so most people say the exotics blow the s out of the ocean, while some think it can begin to compare. can we come to some sort of accurate consensus?

i have heard the nsx comapred to some of the world's best. after driving one recently, i was surprised at how i ended up preferring the s. the nsx, as most of the other exotics, are bigger, heavier cars. yes they have more power and more grip. the nsx felt good, but it felt like it had extra baggage. i started wondering if this was good enough for the rest of them, then maybe the s could be up there. maybe i'm stupid. for those of you who have driven much better handling cars than the s, can you try and describe the experience in words, please?

in regards to the exoctics being more expensive to own, i meant more expensive compared to the honda. that means no 150 buck oil changes, etc.

i really did honestly tire of the z06 acceleration, felt kinda sick. why do you assume i'm in denial? you're a bit of a jerk aren't you?

My Turbo 911 Driving Experience.

A friend leased a 911 Turbo for a year and half for the modest sum of $2,000.00 a month. The car was more hassle than it was worth. He's my review:

The Porsche Turbo is quite a fast off the line ride where you have little sensory feeling that the engine has a turbo. The power comes on really quick, and the all wheel drive plants the car so well, that tail sliding and such is impossible. The interior is completely leather and suede, with plush seats that barely keep you in the seat. Race seats and harnesses are required to get any speed out of it. It's not the push you into the seat power, but rather the push you over the seat into the back seat kind of power. The steering is pretty quick, but now different than a Boxster or the regular 911. The suspension is more kidney pounding than the S, and you can feel weight of the engine in the back. There's a lot of bump steer with such wide tires and all wheel drive. With a 200 mph speedo, 200 mph feels like you a realistic number this car could get to quite easily. There's a lot of detail to assembly and fit and finish are quite good. Brakes are everything you'd imagine a car with that kind of power would have. The engine sounds more muscle car V8 than the electric 911 sound. I prefer the sound of the regular 911 engine.

My biggest memories of the Turbo's ride was the brute power, kidney pounding ride, hard to control on bumping road braking at red lights, and the overly sumptuous interior.
