So are s2000's.
So are s2000's.
When he says Porsches are a dime a dozen around Boston, he's serious. Back during the internet bubble, it seemed like every internet startup had half a dozen silver Boxsters in their parking lot. It seemed like there were more Boxsters than Accords.
In the intervening four years, I think about two thirds of those Boxsters have either crashed or been repossessed, but that still leaves a lot of them on the road.

Do you live in Boston? I ask because your info says you live in Long Island.

more looks in the s2000 over a boxster, maybe, but liked i said, you are in the wrong porsche.
My experience with "exotics" and "exotic-wannabees" is the NSX, about fifty highway (speed limit +) miles in a F360, coupe. I'm surprised none have mentioned what I feel is the single biggest identifying characteristic of all the exotics: aerodynamics and high-speed stability. The S2000 has a great feel and I'm hard-pressed to say that's it's necessarily "less fun" than some of these other cars. But, the S2000 simply does not feel like a car I would want to drive at high speeds. At 70mph I can feel a bit of lightness. At 100mph, you can tell that drag & lift have become real problems. I'd hate to hit even the smallest pothole at the S2000's upper limits. The NSX by comparison truly has that "knife through butter" feel at speed. The F360 as I recall felt unique - it felt like a 5000lb vehicle given how planted it seemed at speed. I do not know whether this can be attributed to aerodynamics or to tire size and configuration.
I think I've whined a few times about the S2000's aerodynamics. I know the popular things to whine about are 8,000rpm vs 9,000rpm, lighter wheels or exhaust, more torque, etc., but IMO it's the aerodynamics that are the single most disappointing thing about the S, and the one thing I would like most to see addressed in the next revision or redesign.

Steve C, I believe you are making a lot of friends here. Keep up the good work!
[QUOTE]Who are you to say to such baseless nonsense about me? You don't know me, and I really don't want to know you. To use profanity and right-wrong verbiage like you do would make one conclude you if you do own a Turbo, it's because you're ultimately shallow, to get women (if you
this thread has sadly shown how horrible some people can be. some posters appear to be giving their honest opinons, while others are clearly products of media marketing and status propaganda. Steve... sad.
i agree that the s at high speeds is scary and light. i was strictly asking about the handling at real everyday world speeds.
maybe we could rephrase the question. are th exotics AS FUN TO DRIVE AS THE S? regardless of any other factor?
