Is the S2k a realistic everyday car?

Sadly, I am selling/trading mine because I cannot get used to the car's freeway mannerisms. It is just too loud and harsh for me. My roommate has an RX8, and even with a loud exhaust I much prefer his car for trips >30 mins.
I think some people are way too sensitive.
People use to ride horses for transportation and still do! Yet a roadster with comfortable bucket seats is deemed harsh!
The car is NO WAY near harsh, stock form it's very well behaved on the highway. If noise was an issue buying an open top convertible was probably bad decision making because it comes with the territory.
I personally am not fond of driving rolling couches like the various luxury cruisers on the market.

i use it every day and it works for me. just hate taking it on long road trips
Kalamazoo Mi. to Florida State Line in under 12 hours.

When you are making Great Time the Fuel stop are closer together and you get an extra chance to strech out.
ive driven mine all day (11 hours) and never felt the least bit of discomfort. i've driven it in a level3 snow emergency (had to get home...). i've put nearly 40k miles on in my 2 years of ownership. i have no regrets, but eventually i plan to make it a fun-weather only car. if you get snow, buy winter tires, and take it very easy in rain.. those are my only two recommendations for making it a practical daily.
The Rev,
I previously owned a model year 2004 S2K, and currently own a model year 2007 S2K. I have daily driven both of these cars through all seasons for a combined total of about 6 years now. I live in Troy, Michigan. Michigan gets it's significant share of cold, ice, snow, heat, frost, rain, etc... I have never had an issue driving this car through all the seasons, or commuting to work, school, home, etc.
The best investment I have is buying a second set of wheels/tires for the winter/snow season. I have a dedicated set of snow tires on one set of rims, and a dedicated set of summer tires on a second set of rims. This works great for me. I have never.....NEVER been stuck in a Michigan winter as long as I have snow tires.
I've driven on 5-6 hours trips to Chicago and Toronto and came out feeling great...the seats are comfortable.
There are blind stops with the top up, but anyone can work around these by buying convex mirrors, or, the better way in my opinion......becoming a more observant driver!
As far a as fuel mileage, I'm averaging approx 22 mpg mixed city/hwy, with about 27-29 mpg highway (doing 80+ mph).
Overall, I the S2K is an exceptionally easy and enjoyable car to drive whether it's for summer use, all season daily driver, or open track day. I don't think you'll be dissapointed. Oh yeah, red is the fastest color
....but I'm biased.
Regards,
Christopher

^Nofar, you must have NFR confused with Silverstone if you think it's the fastest color.
I daily drive my S. I made it stiffer, lower and louder than stock and still enjoy the hell out of it, probably more so now than before. I have fit many odd things into the trunk; mainly b/c I have removed the spare tire.

Depending on your wants, the S can be a great daily driver. The seats are fantastic and the car makes any commute fun.
However, it is loud. You may find the noise to be more than what you want with a daily driver. Honestly, I would probably prefer a quiet sedan or coupe like a M3 or G35 as a daily driver.
