S2k or SI?
First test drive in S2000:
Me to the dealer: "Wow. Amazing. This is way too raw for DD. Anything smoother?"
First test drive in SI:
Me to the dealer: "Great handling."
Me to myself: "But this is way too like a regular Civic. The feel of the transmission is worlds different..."
I ended up with an S2000, that I DD.

sure...... If you can make an Evo last 300k miles and spend less than what I'd spend on an SI with same 300k mileage I have a bridge to sell you but this time I'll sell you the bridge FREE!!!
The chances of an Evo to last not 300k miles, but 150k miles free of engine issues are as slim as me winning a $100 mln lottery

Moot point anyway since I'd still rather have an EVO or WRX that lasts for 150K than an Si that lasts for 300k. You are probably going to sell your Civic and upgrade to something better long before you get to 300k anyway, what's the point of compromising with FWD and low power to reach a milestone you will never see?

i dont regret it but i did like my si alot. its a fun car and made a great dd. wish i could have kept both.
my S keeps me plenty happy though. just picked up a nice clean 92 accord for my dd.

*shurg* why not just get a Mazdaspeed3. More room, more DD friendly due to the power curve and a better chasis overall. I think the SI is overpriced relative to what the competitors offer.
Although I think the SI is great for what it is, but the OP claiming that it can beat 90% of cars in normal DD situations is just non-sense.

Then tell me the % of car out on regular roads that can do 0-60 in 6.5 secs or less, and if that % is higher than 10% then I'd agree with you, It was non-sense what I said.
Unless you believe all those 4WD V6 and V8 you see on the road can be faster than the SI? Now that is non-sense
really.....

I guess you also refer to the poster who claimed he tested the SI and he felt like a 2001 Civic sedan with 129k miles?

And I did not edit the last post, hence the grammar errors

After all we are S2000 International

We have to accommodate people from the global diaspora all of whom may not speak the American way.
I think gina princess' posts are much better than some native English speakers
