Default S2k V8 Honda

While installing a Honda S2000 in my Lotus 7, a visitor came by and chated, very interested in what I am doing. Found out this guy is a mechanical engineer and an engine builder. He mentioned he's been associated with Mugen who developed the HONDA LOTUS formula car venture during the 80's. He said, he is thinking of producing an affordable V8 engine using two Vtec S2000 heads sitting in a billet aluminum block. He said, s2000 head is the best candidate. The engine will be affordable and will be an awesome V8 that will rev like a formula car.
I'm willing to invest my money if its true. I asked what is the displacement and the crankshaft to be used. He said, he helped developed a 3.5 V8 Formula 1 engine, codename MF350 and has two salvage cranks and other parts that he saved thru out the years. In other words, use it as the specs and mass produce the parts.

Sounds interesting....I can't get out of my mind. I have to meet him next week at the pool table uptown....I am very interested and excited.

I discussed this with region members a year ago or so. I don't see why it couldn't be made... granted there is reengineering to be done... but just the idea alone... high and free revving aluminium v8 (F40C) would be amazing to see and hear run. I for one would love to see it made. Maybe it would put some fire under Honda's butt.

That definitely sounds interesting! Especially since it will still be Honda pieces, with a custom block of course.

But would it fit right?

Well, Yeah it will work if you design the aluminum billet similar to this one
using 2 Busa heads.

There's cheaper, easier ways to make power than custom building a motor. What's the target platform anyway? If it's an S2000, then two F20C Heads, Intakes and exhaust manafolds are going to be a tight fit.

why not be happy with what you got?

if you wanted more hp, you should of bought a mustang or something.

half of you people still haven't achieve 60% of the cars potential yet.

me too... I wanna ls7 in my s2000 with dry sum oil system with twin turbo, so the car will have weight distribution of 90 to 10.

yay!
