Default S2K vs. FD3S

Hey everybody, I have the chance to buy either a S2K or a FD3S at the same price. I would like to know the pros and cons of each vehicle + also how they perform with aftermarket upgrades. ( on the drag strip and circuit course )
Which one is faster? Better handler?

i had come to this exact same choice in life.. but i chose the S2K..

reasons being that for the same price, why buy a car 10 years older? i test drove both, but driving the FD just felt like such an older car in comparison to the s2k. both look stunning, and both are very very fun cars. the main reason that i decided upon the S2K was because of the maintenance generally required for an FD... as far as aftermarket upgrade potential, the FD definitely wins hands down. better handling? some say the RX7, some say the S2000. all i can say is that i chose the S2K and i have no regrets.

have a look at some of the hot version videos in particular the touge section where you will find numorous matchups between the S and the FD

see if that helps with your decision making, good viewing nevertheless _b

If you want a CRAZY fast car (with HORRIBLE reliability issues) then go with the FD. If you want a fun car that still looks good and damn good reliability, then go with the S. Bottom line, if you got $$ (alot) to spend freely, why not go with the FD.

less headache with the more reliable and newer S2000. i know a few people with RX7s and they all admit it's a POS although it's fast, fun and has good handling.

but at the same time, the S isnt that much "Cheaper" to mod, actually, its pretty damn expensive to make this car faster.

I would get (and got) the S for its reliability

Just think what it'll be like when you pick up your date for the 1st time.

She'll think (FD):

What is that? From the 80s? Oh, it's that car from that cartoon Initial D. Oh, dood's got no money!

She'll think (S200):
Dang, convertible, what is that, ferrari? The badge, 'H', is that like Hyundai? Wow, those cars have gotten a lot nicer since they made the Hyundai Pony. Oh it's a Honda?? Dang, it's a civic with no roof.....

....No, wait.
