Happy to share my experience in case it’s helpful. Of course, it really depends on what you prioritize.

I wanted a compact FR fun car. I’m definitely more of a coupe person. I started with the Gen II (2.4L) BRZ. After 4000+ miles, I traded it in for an ND2 Miata RF. Another 4000+ miles later, I traded that in for am ND2 Miata RF Club spec. I ended up doing a tune, long tube headers, exhaust, short shifter, MCS 3-way, and Karcept anti-roll bars.

Modded, the ND2 RF was quite close to what I was looking for. However, I sold it after ~6000 miles. At heart, the engine is important to me. Both the 2.4L flat-4 and the ND2 inline-4 lack excitement and character to me.

Now, I have 4 S2000s.

The ND2 is small, light, nimble, great quality, and parts are readily available. Stock suspension is very soft and I prefer something with less body movement.

The BRZ has more space, more torque, a coupe, and a very popular platform. The handling is great but doesn’t feel as capable as the ND2 or S2000.

S2000 parts availability is getting tougher but the engine & transmission make it a truly fantastic experience. The handling is legendary. I find that it’s very rewarding. Get it just right and it’s a zero steering angle 4-wheel drift corner exit.

Haha too funny!

I think I am going to join the dark side my friend. I will spend the extra 30 seconds to torque it down. LOL

just added a 2023 ND club to my garage with my ap2 that i ordered in jan and got in april. its now my 3 season daily driver and i have to say it is fantastic. i opted for the BBS, Brembo, Recaro package. its just all around a lot of fun. originally i was planning on getting a low mileage ap1, but i didnt wanna spend 30k plus for a super clean low mile one when like what others were saying i could get a brand new car and i managed to get a fantastic deal (even in todays crazy market). overall its fun has plenty of power for its weight and i actually find it to be much more usable and driver friendly then say a stock ap1. yes its a little soft and floaty like others have said even with the Bilstein suspension, but its comfortable. the only thing is that it doesnt have the amazing engine sound of the s2k. but overall its an excellent car. i love my ap2 more for its rawness and sounds etc, but this is an excellent choice. s2000 or nd2 you wont be dissapointed. both are amazing in their own ways

I can agree with the opinion said here.

While I love my S2k and have owned it for over 15years, If something were to happen to it, I prob would not buy another one.

As awesome as they are, they are not worth $35k+ IMO.

I bought mine at the right price and the right time and have extensively enjoyed it, but would not spend the premium money on another one.

Too many other cars out there at that same price point to enjoy.
