S2KCA -- Need Member Feedback ASAP
cthree - whay should you be entitled to a free track day through s2kca? They are a non-profit organization which means, they don't necessarily have the money to "sponsor" a day for you at the track. If everyone else has to pay, I don't see why you shouldn't. Despite what your corporation offers s2kca. And what does your diatribe have to do with this thread. It looks to me like its yet another thinly veiled personal attack on the people you don't like. If you want all of this BS to stop (as you claim), why don't you just drop it?
Here's a suggestion for putting an end to all of the BS to which ctree referred - rather than use this board, I suggest s2kca look into using s2kiportal. Then no one has to worry about any sponsorship money changing hands which should eliminate fears concerning the biases that have been discussed about s2ki. And since cthree seems happy enough to bash s2kca continuely, moving to another site can eliminate that as well. Just my .02

You never asked for a free track day - you demanded a free track day. AND, you did it after the Club had already set the pricing for the Laguna event and started taking registrations. So, what you did was say, S2KCA I see that you have set your pricing for the Laguna event at a break-even level - you should let me have one of the 60 paying spots that are need to cover the cost of the event - and you should let me have it for free.
Why should the S2KCA lose money because you demand a track day?
As was discussed at the time, had you come to us with a request for a track day in a timely manner (before prices were set) we would have gladly offered you a spot. But what you did was say, S2KCA I want your next 6-7 memberships to pay for me to drive Laguna Seca.
In the end, the Club said that they would extend the offer of a track day to you (but wanted you to realize that it was money out of the Club's pocket) and you turned it down. I guess you that you could play martyr some more.
The difference between this scenario and web-hosting etc, is that this scenario actually takes money out of the Club's pocket and webhosting/forums/etc doesn't.
As I have said before, the S2KCA thanks you for your forum.
Btw, an elected BOD is total crap isn't it - isn't that what this nation is founded on?
Why did HondaGal move away from the original s2ki? Probably because Sondra, Greg and I had a different vision. Is that wrong? I have no hard feelings with HondaGal. We had different visions and we acted on them.

s2kchick, unfortunately, 2 cents doesn't buy anything these days.
Just so we are clear why would S2KCA even remotely consider using s2kiportal when they have their own board system already in place? I think you are clearly missing the intent of the thread originator. The S2000 community needs to remain united not divided.

I would also suggest cthree that you let Honda Gal speak for herself.
You profess that you want all of this banter to end yet you personally continue on with it. We get that you don't like Greg and you don't like Sondra. Who cares? Are you trying to make their organization fail? If that's the case, you have way too much time on your hands.

Turbo power - the original poster asked for suggestions. My suggestionis that the bod members of s2kca disassociate themselves with this site because the organizers can not get past any personal differences and continue to blast s2kca. So why stay for the bad pr? s2kportal is already there so why not frequent it? s2kportal obviously started because this site had sparked differing opinions. It you want a cohesive s2k community talk to the organizers about this site and the way they run it and see if the organizers of s2kportal want to shut thiers down. Frankly, I don't see that happening. Obviously there are people out there who think a new site is in order.
s2kca needs additional exposure (other than just there own website). s2kportal offers them an opportunity to reach more s2k owners. s2ki offers them an opportunity for some persoanl attacks? So, why stay.

and what benefit does everyone get out of trying to reinvent the wheel? reach more s2k owners? you're kidding right? so differing opinions in a free society is bad? sorry I wasn't aware of that. I happen to enjoy s2ki and have absolutely no problems with the folks at S2KCA. But I don't believe this site is an Eutopia and was ever meant to be that way. This site exists/succeeds because the original users made it a place where everyone was welcomed to speak their mind. The philosophy has not changed and brings out the best of this board. Differing opinions exists get use to it. To seperate everyone and believe that changing from one message board to another will make everyone get along is very naive.
Lets keep in mind that this online community only reaches less than 10% of all S2000 owners. And way less than that actually use it on a regular basis.
The S2KCA is making strides to reach the majority of the S2000 community. That is something that will never happen through an online forum.

TO think that everyone will be happy with one site and one cohesive family isn't practical either. s2ki sprang to life because certain needs weren't being met by the forum existing at the time. People weren't happy with it and created this site. And so goes s2kportal. People became disenchanted with this site and started a new one. What's wrong with that?
All I'm suggested for s2kca (in reponse to this thread topic) is to start frequenting the other site. This one isn't really doing anything for s2kca anymore except giving them some bad pr.
