S2KCA -- Need Member Feedback ASAP
Jschmidt
The $5 policy was put in place after Asheville. It did not apply to the free memberships from that event.
I'm really confused on how this is mis-understood.
Every member who paid a membership fee during the time the contribution was in place had $5 contributed to S2KCA.
I really wish there was some dishonest stuff going on with the S2KCA - I might be making some money off of it.

Well, you spend all day on the golf course and out tonight with eating and drinking with friends you come home to see such an amazing thing on my monitor. Pretty good round today...shot an 84...blew a couple of holes on both the front and the back nine...short game was good, driving was bangin' and putting was feeling pretty good today, too. I should have had a 79, but there's always tomorrow...yesterday's round sucked, today's was pretty good. Tomorrow I hope to shoot in the 70's. Wish me luck...
I guess the main thing that I am not sure about is the concept of a partial/special membership that jschmidt isn't clear on. All members, whether they be from S2KDays or not (of which there were about 100) have received the same benefits. The members from Asheville were gifted annual memberships for attending S2KDays. No contribution was made to s2ki based on these memberships, only PAID memberships were included in the money that has been paid to Erik and Co. There are no levels of membership...everyone is entitled to the same benefits.
One important note, I think, should be mentioned here. Sondra is the Secretary of the club...she takes what has been said in the meetings and creates minutes based on what transpires. She has been on the road taking her car to get it repaired and wasn't even at the meeting, but now that she can have a little time to look over the agenda and the items, she will create minutes for everyone to look over. One of the things that I think may be of interest is something I am on record of supporting is/was the idea of having two of our Regional Directors act as bridges to close the gap that divides s2ki and S2KCA. I have NEVER said that I wanted a "split" from this site (and I challenge you to find where you think I have)...using the 5 dollar deal was used by a few people who don't like us or what we are trying to do to make us look bad. I would like you to find where I said that I wasn't grateful to s2ki. Sure, there have been problems and even some caused by ourselves...but the fact is that I never asked to break away...PERIOD. We simply elimiated the 5 dollar contribution...that's it - and Erik never winced. He couldn't have cared less given what his posts indicate and I sure never heard from him after I emailed Rylan and him about it. I can't for the life of me understand why this got some up in arms...especially when all the people who were promised that had their contribution made. It was only moving forward...and Erik himself said he really didn't want it anyway.
Now that our forums have been eliminated, I would only like to say that at the meeting last night, two RD's of the S2KCA, Raul and Jerry, were commissioned to repair the damaged relations that divide us...I don't know where that stands now. The whole thing was so blown out of proportion...I hope things can get back on some level of understanding. Neither side is innocent here. We have both caused problems for one another, as well as benefitted one another.
Either way, the S2KCA is going to live or die based on working with American Honda,...that has been my goal all along. I want good relations with Erik and Co. as well and I hope that we can be men and shake hands and say hey, you know, we might have both made mistakes along the way (I have, I can admit) and get on with having some kind of cohesion between our organizations. As some have said, I think our organizations do, in some ways, compliment one another...with others, we need furrther clarification.
I *never* meant for it to come to a split...but I'm a man and therefore can admit faults. After all of this has been said and all has been done, we are working to build something around enthusiasm around a car and have fun with other folks who have the same interests.
So, how about a little peace here. Yes, there are lots and lots of things to be unhappy about...egos tripping over one another...etc. But what about it? Want to make it work? I'm willing. I hope whoever is reading this is willing to listen and help make it work, as well.
I'll be reading your replies with great interest...
Thanks...
P.S. The idea that I am the same person as s2kchick is positively preposterous. I'm self employed and in the last few years have had ZERO projects at a law firm. About 4 years ago I had an engagement at Chicago Title, but that was 4 years ago. I've taken the last several months off (like I do every year) to sharpen up my golf gamel, drink copious amounts of imported beer, sleep late and tell my parents how much I love them and appreciate them (not necessarily in that order). I have no idea who s2kchick is...but by all means, please let your imaginations run wild. That's what makes the world go 'round....

Amazingly calm and cool, thank you, Greg. I hope this last post can lead to a reunification of forces. Everybody take a deep breath and go back to your corners. I'd like to lock this thread right here. NO MORE ADVERSE POSTS, PLEASE! Take any bickering between personalities to Private Messaging. Thanks.

Like I said, I am not trying to start anything. I just hope that people do realize that this does have a negetive affect on people viewing this.
I think we are loosing focus here. Please read the thread topic. Now, I have had my problems with S2kca, and have vented my opinions on the matter. Can we not put this crap behind us and start moving forward? As it stands now, I think S2kca is in a whole lot of trouble if they don't get their act together soon!!! Let's just move on.
