S2KCA -- Need Member Feedback ASAP
Jschmidt - the $5 contribution was put in place after Asheville. The Club didn't have any members until Asheville.
How do you think a non-profit could contribute $5 for 100 memberships that were given away?

2) You have never posted in NE region forum
3) Your writing style is exactly the same as an infamous Chicago member
I suspected that it was you in the previous S2KCA threads, but the fact that you registered the username over a year ago fooled me into thinking that I had to be wrong.
The coup de gras: the way you posted to say that your opinions must be right because s2kchick (a non-S2KCA member) agreed with you! Oh, my, what absolute gall you have!
Quotes:
"It's funny that s2kchick is not a member of either but defends us and call the hypocrisy like she sees it with C3 and Co."
"I'm on a mission now. I've been thinking about having the event on east coast. And s2kchick just posted the question."
It gets worse everyday.

yu888, that was a very good post.
First of all, I am not taking sides, and I am not pointing fingers at anyone.
Yes, there has been a lot of crap that has happened in the past between S2KCA and S2KI, but everyone needs to put the past behind them and move on (STOP TALKING/POSTING ABOUT THE PAST--ANY COUNSELOR WILL TELL YOU THIS).
With any relationship, whether is professional or personal, differences will arise, and not everyone will agree on every issue. There will always be two sides to every story. However, to make a relationship successful, each party needs to put themselves in the "other person's shoes" and try to see things from their perspective in order to work things out. In this case, it's not a marriage between two people, but it's a marriage between two organizations.
Presenting a united front and cooperating is the best way for both organizations to "win". And if both organizations "win", then S2000 owners will also "win". With both organizations united, there will be much more exposure which means more awareness about the S2000, more awareness about S2KI and S2KCA, more sponsors, more advertising, more group buys (lower prices), etc. Measures need to be taken to promote both organizations, and both organizations must agree on certain boundaries (e.g. forums, track events, on-line stores, etc.). There should not be a duplication of efforts because that wastes time and money.
There needs to be regular communication between the two organizations to discuss ideas and issues. Discussions must be professional and businesslike, and emotions must be kept out of the picture.
I have over 10 years of marketing experience, and trust me, many things needs to change for both organizations to foster growth. For example, if you do a search on Yahoo for S2000, both the S2KCA and S2KI references are buried below many other web sites and listing. For these two organizations to propel themselves forward, they should be at the top, just below the Honda web site reference. In addition, many car clubs have deals/partnerships with the car manufacturers and/or dealerships themselves to include literature about the car clubs with the cars' owners manual. This is the perfect means of informing new car owners about car clubs and informational resources.
I would like to see both organizations prosper.

So, what do y'all think about the potential baseball strike?
I mean, if this thread is going to refuse to stay on topic, we might as well shift COMPLETELY off-topic instead of sitting in a tiny virtual room blowing spit-wads at each other...

Tanq,
I was warned harshly by Sondra via an email when I suggested that she 'stay out of it' when she was defending Tim from MG Racing. Her statement was that she as an owner and contributor of S2Ki has a right to say what she wants when it comes to personal issues and her opinions, feelings, and whatever.
Since then, I've stayed out of debated topics of all natures....especially those regarding S2Ki and S2KCA. I'm well educated and see different sides and can even consider the differing circumstances of why each "camp" feels the way they do.
But you are taking it just a little too far....for your thought to air S2KCA issues publically in a forum for non-members and members of S2KCA (when S2KCA already has a forum for its members) is questionable. But that's fine and dandy because I can understand that due to traffic, readership is more apparent here on S2Ki than on S2KCA forum site (not saying I agree, or disagree with your actions).
But I do recommend STRONGLY that you watch out for your accusations, right now. For the sake of S2KCA, for the sake of S2Ki (Erik, if you own the knowledge on your site, which you have made public statements about, you are also responsible for publishing and maintaining it), and for your own sake. False accusations can be followed up legally.
Please do not take this as a threat, I do not mean for it as a threat. This is just meant as a "Tanq, Tread lightly" statement.
BTW, I hope you don't miss out on my post because you have me on your ignore list from the 9/11 topics.....that'd be a real shame.

How do you think a non-profit could contribute $5 for 100 memberships that were given away?
* keeping the organization's word and paying up
* disclosing that these are not regular memberships and do not have some benefits
* disclosing that real regular membership was not included in the event fee and this was just a way of
inflating the membership roles
* announcing at the time the decision was taken that the club had made a mistake and couldn't afford to
provide this member benefit for the fee-included members. Expressing an apology to the membership and
taking responsibility for the mistake.
Dishonestly by:
* Keeping it a secret until caught
* Ignoring repeated inquiries by a member and failing to fess up when asked.
* Acting as if I am stupid for ever expecting the club to keep it's word (perhaps you are right about this.)
nonprofit, shmonprofit BTW. It's not like you are a battered women's shelter or some other highly worthy cause.
And it's not like you don't have the cash in the bank, now is it.You guys are in big denial. Does it, perhaps, extend to other parts of your life? This latest S2Kchick drama has me wondering...
