You win the award for best photography in a post to demonstrate how far the seats recline

The dealer didn't tell me it was normal. I looked at the service manager's '06 & a showroom '07. They both reclined as pictured below.

The driver & passenger seat are at the same setting at the base. Notice the driver's seat can recline farther.
Exactly what my '06 looks like. The passenger seat has the airbag cutoff sensor, so I assume that Honda does not want the seatback to contact the roll hoop and then give a false indication of load on the seat. It's like getting on a scale and holding on to something at the same time.

Sorry you are disappinted b/c you certainly picked the best exterior/interior colors possible!

I think he meant reclines as in reclines all the way back touching the roll hoop.

My 07 reclines pretty much all the way (or as far as the driver's side). The passenger side can go back enough to push against the roll hoop. Weird.

Clyde, both the AP1 and AP2 seats have the same "1/2 duplex" reclining system. You can either have the seat farther back (the bottom part) or have it reclined. You cannot have both. If the seat did not recline, it means the bottom was slid back all the way on the rails. Move the seat forward a bit, and youll be able to recline.

Not on my '06. Seat forward, seat aft -- same minimal "recline"

After reading this, I went out and tried my passenger seat,
and yeah, it does NOT recline all the way back!
But I don't think there will be any need to go further than what my seats are positioned currently.

Makes no sense as you can slide the passenger seat all the way back so that the seat rests against the rear wall and the top of the seat touches the rollhoop, just as it does in the photo for the drivers seat. Maybe the seat is more upright than the drivers seat, but it touches the wall either way... I don't think the airbag sensor has anything to do with it.
