SC + 4.xx gears

with aggressive gears hit low/mid 13's...
it should surely hit mid 12's with SC and a good driver.
I'd say low 12's are a given with slicks/drag radials and a good pilot.
Given the RWD, near midship, 2800 lbs, close ratio transmission platform of the s2k, adding 50-100hp or significantly modifing the gear ratios will have fairly substantial reduction in 1/4 times.

an S2000 with just the SC at stock boost, can hit high 12's.
a 4.57 geared S2000 can hit 13.3 with no other mods. (this is about .5 seconds off the ET of a stock S2k)
so, an S2000 with SC and gears should be able to hit low/mid 12's with a great driver.

Do I think low 12s is possible with a supercharger, slicks, and 4.56s or 4.77s? Yes, it might be possible. But people have a hard enough time as it is piloting a stock S2K to 13.8.
Add the stick of slicks: Launch gets more tricky
Add the power of a supercharger: Launch gets even trickier
Add the acceleration of gears: Shifting comes quicker and more frequent, which leaves more room for error in a 1/4 mile pass.
So even your good drivers that are able to hit 13.8s stock will have even a harder time hitting low 12s with the mods listed above. Your average drivers? Forget about it. Cracking into the 12s consistently will be tough.
You're probably the #1 drag racer on this site and even you aren't turning the low 13 second passes with the gear upgrade if I remember correctly.
I'm not saying low 12s aren't possible, I just don't want anyone to get their hopes up.

so we should blame the car for the driver? what sense does that make? they wanted to know if it was possible. not how probable it would be. so the answer is, yes, with a great driver, it's most certainly possible.
give me a 4.57 geared S2000 with an SC, and I'm willing to bet I could get it there once I had enough practice to adjust.
and, FYI, I've only been to the track twice with my new gears. I've made maybe a total of 6 or 7 runs in them. And, there ARE people who HAVE run 13.3 with just the gears.
I witnessed one owner do it one two seperate occasions.

And I don't doubt that a S2K with just gears CAN hit 13.3s, but I was just using you as an example of someone who drag races more than most, but still doesn't have one of those timeslips under your belt to show how much practice and skill it takes to run the times that some people are throwing around as if they are given. I didn't realize that you'd only had a few passes with the gears though.

Yea, with an sc and gears... And just a nice exhaust I could see low to mid 12's...
I don't know for fact, but it seems entirely possible and probable that you would be in the mid-high 12's with the SC and gears. Throw in an upgraded pulley, some engine management and tuning and I'll bet that's low 12's for sure.
