These first 600 miles are nothing over the life of this car. They will be over and forgotten soon enough. It is a minuscule amount of time and self-control compared to your years of ownership ahead. I cannot believe I've had my S2K for 1 year 4 months already. Time flies.

I too kicked the crap out of mine I cant remember but I think mine only has 400 miles on it now. (been torn apart for months for mods) Hope it does not hurt, cause if it does I have no warranty, and i may be forced to get all Spoon internals

disable vtec

that's probably what I'll do when I toss the B16 in my CRX until the clutch is worn in.

Actually I went one step further based on information from this forum. I raised the redline from 5500 to 9000, 1K at a time starting at 600. I moved up to 7K at 700, 8K at 800 , 9K at 900 and reved to red at 1000. It was a bear to resist, but she seems to be very responsive and no oil use.
I also wait to VTEC until I'm sure the oil is up to operating temp. Just cuz there's three bars there doesn't mean the engine is fully warmed up.

Actually, you shouldn't set the cruise control at all during breakin- you're supposed to vary the speed and RPMs.

You can go 95, or even 100, in 6th gear and not go over 5500 rpm.

Go for a long drive this weekend!
