Sell it. Period. Is it eligible for lemon law protection?

Sounds like the transmission may have been abused before you bought the car. You said there was some abnormal wear on some of the gear teeth. The early abuse may also be causing your current problem, of course even if it's not due to your driving style there is no way for the dealer to know. Also, if you have ANY mods on your car it does not help your case since we all know Honda does not look favorably upon owners changing out OEM parts for what may be questionable after-market replacements.

It sounds like the dealer has made attempts to resolve the issue albeit not to your satisfaction. Your best bet is to talk to AHM and see if there is another dealership you can work with. As mentioned before, your other choice is to find a new/used AP2 transmission and have it installed be a reputable shop.

Using the sme dealer is the problem. I also take my Honda's to a far away dealer, as my close by one scratched interior parts on our other Honda, screws up work, etc.

Don't expectmuch from Honda corporate - most dealers are "franchised" and Honda cannot do too much to help.

lemon it and get your full money back, then buy a new 08. Honesty though you have every right too.

You first need to complain about the loss of your cds and the scratch and what not they need to take care of for you. Threaten to file a claim against them, and the only real thing left is to replace it with a new transmission. Granted it will not be brand new, but a rebuilt one, but no doubt it should be better then your previous one.

wow that's some shady stuff goin on at that dealer. I work for toyota and it's a big no no to mess around with a customer like that. We cover stuff under warranty all the time for people that are out of warranty, as long as they have taken care of their service...

what is even more ridiculous is that the general manager admitted to abusing his S2000 and blowing not one but TWO engines in it. Completely freaking unbelievable!

He kept talking about how people think its a race car and abuse and how all the time they have parents come in complaining that the s2000 they bought for their son is always having clutch, tranny and diff problems blah blah blah.

I told him i didnt appreciate being profiled like that then he goes on to tell me that its 'what he heard from the techs'. Seriously, i told the techs i always rev match because i dont like the car jerking when i shift. Apparently that means i am a Mario Andretti wannabe now.

I mean what about the S2000 CR they have in the show room. Its ADVERTISED as 'read for the track'! Do they really expect people to buy an s2000 CR and take it grocery shopping?

you may have bought a car that was driven hard and it is catching up to you in tranny problems. the dealer sounds like the wrong one to be servicing you, go see another and start new.

that being said if in the end you are outta luck you must persist, if that doesn't work then you might want to invest in another transmission at your cost, not done by your dealer, but another shop/dealer just in case there are future problems, this is not a s2000 issue, but rather your car anda perhaps the way it was treated before you came along. best of luck

i would like to say it was abuse from the prior owner. But I dont believe that is the case. My car shifted fine in all gears except 1st and 2nd exactly as described in the TSB.

There IS a TSB regarding the 1st gear pop out which affected ALOT of MY04 s2000s. Mine included. I had them rebuild the tranny. They corrected 1st gear but then immediatly caused 3rd gear to have problems. Rebuilt again. 3rd gear still same problem and now Immediatly caused 4th gear issue, litter not 5 mins after I drove it off their lot after service.

Its painfully obvious that the problem has absolutely nothing to do with driving. It has to do with poor workmanship and improper troubleshooting of the issue at hand.
