Shaking Shift knob
I'm starting to notice my gear shift knob shaking noticeably at high speeds. Does anyone else have this problem and how did you fix it? Could this be a sign of transmission trouble?
I checked my tires and they are balanced and the psi is 32.

doesn't have anything to do with the tires. the tires shaking would be different. the tranny is under severe load at high speeds, so any shaking, well.. I would call that normal. not sure about you.

I too seem to have the same kind of problem or so I think...
I have always wanted to drive another S2000 to see if if was just my S that had the problem... My only thought on this is that it is my first RWD car and It has POWER so that could be the result and I would be able to deal with that for an explanation...Anyone else?
Please help inform us.
the problem is not that bad but, it is there.

Umm, guys... have you seen a picture of our motors and tranny out of the car? The shifter is directly ON the back end of the transmission, not some cable link off the tranny hence the excessive shaking.
Not too much that can be done to eliminate it as the motor and tranny will shake and vibrate at any and all speeds unless the shifter is moved off the tranny, isolating it from the vibrating motor/transmission assembly.

My shifter just recently became so shaky that it is uncomfortable to keep my hand on it, and there may be a noise involved as well, this cannot have anything to do with the shifter being on the rear of the transmission.
