Shame on me
Seems redundant or a bit unnecessary to me in your case. It was always rather apparent to me when the power curve of the motor started to drop off in NA form so I never needed to look at the tack to make a shift at the max rpm I wanted. With a Supercharger its much less apparent though, not only because of the quicker acceleration, but the power never really drops off before redline, but your ears and other senses do adapt and you can usually tell when your approaching the rev limiter without looking at it. I do find that its necessary in first or second gear if I want to be mindful. But i'm not as mindful about bouncing off the limiter with my current F20 like I was taking my F22 to 9k rpm which I did do time to time - that's when I had the beeper.
Sounds like the problem existed before.....not now. S2000 was meant to be driven in that manner, it makes its power up top and therefore needs to be caned to get the full enjoyment. If you feel like you're too old and it's too "juvenile" to drive a performance car in the powerband it was made to thrive in, sell it and get a corvette or something. I couldn't care less what other people think of me when I'm enjoying myself in my car.
