Ok, I am an idiot...while installing my new head unit a couple of weeks ago, I managed to scratch the heck out of the shiny ring around the shift knob boot. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement?

Honda says I have to replace the entire console piece ($150). I know that I am not the first person to break it(Barry in WY?), so what is the best solution?

Thanks!

Tangueray,
Here is the thread you are looking for.

I like the titanium quite a bit. I think the only other solution is to replace who whole center console shebang and that runs about $300.

$300 to get out of a jam or $182.50 to bury your mistake under titanium.

Like any good doctor, I chose to bury my mistake.

Well, you can actually polish the finish off of the ring and see what happens to it that way. Maybe that would be enoungh to remove the scratches...?

Pinky did this and I think it looks cool...I didn't do it, so I can't tell you kind of polish to use, but ask Pinky.

Sorry ... I don't have any great advice ... just confirmation that Honda isn't selling this part seperately ...
