Shift Knob Comparison
Since we're talking about shifting, how do you all actually "grasp" the knob?
Palm on the side, and fingers wrap around, and push/pull the knob?
Palm on top, and kind of slap the shifter into place?
Me personally I hold it with half of my palm on top, half on the side, not too tightly so I can get my hand back to the steering wheel the quickest. Plus, it feels the most comfortable to me.
I was riding in an Accord once with a friend and the way he shifted was hilarious. He pretty much smacked the crap out of the shifter. He also showed me how he could shift with his foot (In an empty parking lot, the location of choice by me for this feat
)
I was just curious, because I've seen some pretty funny ways to shift, wondering if any of you smack that knob 'round
BTW, is it worth the hefty cost for some of these new knobs if the car is never going to see a track?
