shifting before redline
I have noticed that I pull on other car s (stangGT's) that i have raced more when shifting at 8,500-8,700 rather than redline.. is shifting at peak hosepower better that at redline?

but use the search function to see prior discussions until conclusions are added to the faq section.
thanks. I'll certainly look at it. looks very cool indeed.
but typically, with most drivers, if you say shift at redline, then they rev rev rev, oh, its at redline and I'll shift now, and it might studder at the rev limiter at that point. its why I recommend telling people who want to shift at a certain point to shift at 8800 rpms or 8900 rpms depending on their reaction skills - that way, they will look for that, react, then shift, at the proper moment.
thanks again for the site. looks very cool in overview. just need time to read through it.

I used to watch the tach..and shift when the "red" light starts to blink w/out hitting the rev-limiter.. and did so well (IMHO), but now... I can tell by the power, feel, and sound when to shift.
