Default Shin-Etsu mess!

The convertible seals on the S must be kept in good condition and the owner's manual recommends applying Shin-Etsu every 3 to 6 months.

My question is, Is there anyone here who is pretty good in applying this stuff? My first time was quite messy; the grease got all over the windows and everytime I wiped them off, the grease would get on them again from the moist seals.

Is there a better way to use the Shin-Etsu? Should you wipe it off once applied or leave it on until it dries? Actually, the Shin does not ever seem to dry, it just stays there. Eventually I wiped it off after a week or my car would have stayed too messy.

Can anyone offer any help and advice regarding this subject?

I use 303 protectant on the weather seals, including the ends where they slide against each other. Provides a slippery, UV-protecting condition. I really don't understand why shin-etsu is necessary.

i just put it on with my finger... let it set a little while (usually while you do the other seals its enough time) then wipe with a towel... without wiping it gets EVERYWHERE

Where do you buy this stuff?

Also, for those using 303 Vinyl Protectorant, where is the best place to purchase? PepBoys? Autozone?

I have never seen 303 in my local auto parts stores, but is commonly found at boating supply stores.

You can buy it "on-line" I use this on "Everything" engine hoses, top, tires,"All"- rubber seals. Once you try it, you will be sold! It replaces alot of things in your "Cleaning/Cabinate"

hey nate, I have a bottle of the shin-etsu. You can buy it at the dealer, but it's really expensive for the amount that you use. I don't remember off hand, but it may have been almost $20 and you could probably use the bottle for the rest of your life. If you and Tej want to chip in a few bucks, I'll bring the tube up. 303, I bought at a leather shop; but you can usually find them at marine equipment shops or the link I sent you about the model cars

On my S2000 I just had a part of the roof seal trim start coming out and was wondering if anyone else has seen this?
