Short block replacement thread.

Kyle, I forgot to mention that you should pull your spark plugs immediately and look for any sign that one of them disintegrated. That caused cylinder damage in the earlier years of the S. Spark plugs need to be torqued properly or they can back off and wreak havoc.

Add my engine to the list. I will post up all info in about a week AFTER the new engine is IN the car. i'm not taking any f'in chances with them denying the warranty after they approved it..even though i really didn't do anything that would cause them to deny it in the first place...
cylinder 4 connecting rod broke in half. half shot through the bottom of the engine...other half with piston on top lodged in the head...total catastrophic failure. they are even replacing the intake manifold because of metal chunk damage. they're replacing it with a used engine that has 44k miles on it. and giving me a 6 month 6,000 mile warranty on the used engine.
even though my warranty papers say i should only pay 100$ they say i gotta pay 25% labor which comes to something like 700$....I haven't complained a single bit and i'm not even gonna mention it until the engine is already in the car because i feel damn f'ing lucky that they even covered it this much with how many people got screwed.
the key...i was real nice..had all receipts..and the car was BONE STOCK. and i'm talking BONE STOCK. 87k miles on it. 2002.
like i said i'll post engine # VIN and all that good stuff in about a week or so when my baby is saftely back in my possession....i might be lucky but i'm not an idiot.
