Default Should I buy new or used....?

After reading many posts, I really don't know if I should buy new or used. Many are saying that the pre 2004 cars are more raw and a more focused sports car.
I just read that certified preowned cars are warranted for 7 years or 100,000 miles....wow. It's almost better to buy a low mileage used car instead of new. I believe new cars only come with a 3 year or 36,000 mile warranty. Would a 2004 used with 1500 miles come with the 7 year warranty or do the cars have to be a certain age.
Does that mean that I can drive the crap out of it, always in the vtec zone, and Honda will warranty it for 7 years...?? That is incredible.
What do you guys think. I can pay cash for new, but after reading a few posts regarding the 03-04 change, I don't know what to go with. It is kind of strange that the rest of the world gets the higher reving engine except the states.
I am going to have to test drive both and then decide, however I will probably buy used to get that wonderful 7 year warranty.
cheers

if u are planning on keeping the S for a long time, i suggest u get a new one.

as far as '03 and undr compared to '04 and up, there really isn't any difference.

'04 models, u can put bigger wheels on like i did because of the added torque and really not notice any acceleration loss (streetwise).

I plan on keeping my S for a long time. it'll be my little roadster.

depreciation is depressing. get a 02-03 model for 21-25K. That beats 30-32K+dealer ripoff fees.

remember, after a year, a new S will lose about $5000.

I've never bought a new car...and I may never. Buy a good used 02-04 "S" with a safe carfax report from a certified Honda dealer. Keep in mind, the certified 7 year/100,000 mile warranty is a powertrain warranty only. I believe the certified Honda warranty grants you an additional year of bumper to bumper coverage after the 3 year/36,000 mile warranty is up.

I can't figure out why anyone would buy new. I found a 2004 with around 7500 miles on it for around $27,500. 7500 miles is not even fully broken in. The salesman told me the way the warranty works is that if needed the origional warranty of 3 years or 36,000 miles kicks in, then after that you get a 1 year or 12,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty for a total of 4 years b to b or 48,000 miles, plus a 7 year 100,000 mile powertrain warranty that starts from the origional purchase date.
So buying new does not make sense, if you plan on keeping the vehicle a long time, because your warranty will be up in 3 years, plus you suffer all that depreciation. A no brainer...
Now my only decision is to buy an 2003-9000rpm, or 2004-8000rpm red line????? Decisions decisions......
