Default Anyone have experience buying new from states?

Just wondering if anyone has any experience buying a new S2000 from a dealer in the states? And if so, how did it go? I am looking to buy a new S2000 from somewhere in the states, preferably as close to the border as possible, but not a big deal..can always fly somewhere and drive it back. Just with the dollar difference being so huge, it's definitely something to look at. I know that there may not be any warranty, but whatever.

Let me know your comments.
thanks

Found this on another thread.

One thing to also remember on honda and acura is not that the warranty is void. If you take it to the US it will 100% be honored. You can also have warranty work done in Canada as well. the way it works is you have to contact Honda USA first and notify them of the problem. Then you can have the job fixed and you have to pay the bill up front to your local canadian dealer. You then submit the bill to Honda USA and should have a cheque in your mailbox in about 2-4 weeks. I have done this for a ECU failure and was no issue at all.

just so you realize the US dollar is again slightly stronger then the Canadian dollar.

But the pricing difference is still big.

If u r gonna buy a brand new s2k from US and bring it up here...ur car will not have warranty...

In order for ur car to have warranty in Canada, u MUST have valid US insurance, US drivers liscence and US regristation...this "rule" is to protect ppl that came from the US and now working in Canada with their vehicles....

Honda Canada will only honour the warranty if it's a safety issue...like safety related recalls....like ur wheels are gonna fall off or like ur air bag will deploy by itself anytime....

normal warranty problems like...sqeaks, rattles, radio not working, power window not working...etc....will not be covered at all....honda US or Canada will not pay for those...if u bring ur car to a dealership, they will just tell u..."too bad....."

I know these for a fact because i am a honda tech @ a honda dealership.....

Yah im not to worried about warranty, if i can save 10-12k by importing it, i don't need warranty. I have had more problems with warranty where they wouldn't cover it that there is no point, ill just pay cash to fix it.
