Which should I go for AP1 or AP2?

I would never buy an 04-05 for the lack of flashpro use. If I were to buy a new s2000 all over again it would be 03 or 06+. Currently have an 07 with a flashpro. No ap1 can take me unless it has gears in it. This "soft suspension" thing I don't believe either. I haven't tracked an ap1 though so I could be wrong, but I bet I can get a better time on a track with an ap2 over ap1.

Stock for stock, the better time around a circuit is probably due to the higher torque characteristics of the AP2 motor rather than the equivalence of the AP1's suspension. I've not driven an AP2 but I can say with some certainty that while most will swear by the AP1's suspension over the AP2, every single book I've read or am reading on race car driving states that lap times and races are won on the straights and not in the corners. I would be pretty inclined to believe you'd post better times in an AP2 compared to an AP1 for the simple fact that you'd be able to gain better exit speeds and subsequently, higher top speeds in the straights.

If you came to cayuga with your ap1 and let me drive it, we could try this out yes ? There was a video though where the drift king was able to hold a higher speed through corners with ap2 suspension, over ap1 suspension.

You might get a better time in an AP1, sway bars are thicker than AP2, AP1's I think are lighter than AP2s, stiffer spring rates, better steering ratio and more...AP1's are the track car, AP2 are comfort luxury LOL jk...but seriously

I got an 05, and my friend has an 00. There are differences for sure. Love his steering wheel feel on the ap1, the steering is way softer on the ap2. A true sports car steering for any sports car. Love the tranny on my 05, butter smooth. And his tranny's 5th gear is hard to find for some reason.

I'm working on getting a helmet. I'll be out with you guys soon enough. I have no problems letting anyone with enough track experience take my car out for a spin. It's only a car after all

Get a helmet for august 3rd! Cayuga open lapping. I can bring my laptop to flash my ecu to a more stock setting to make it a better comparison too.
