It causes issues with modding, which is fact.

Typically DBW has a pretty annoying delay from when you hit the gas pedal and when the throttle opens. Granted I haven't driven a 06+ at the limit to notice how bad or not bad it is.
Did you pull this all out of your ass?

See for yourself and go drive an '04-'05 and then drive an '06+. Can you tell a the difference? If you can is it enough to bug the crap out of you if you were to own one? If so then stick with a cable throttle S.

My conclusion after owning the car for a while is that it's virtually unnoticeable, but there's a slight shade of "rev hang" (although it's not bad at all). The s2k has by far one of the better DBW systems.

People slowly find out why an '06+ is a better option in every way and are kicking themselves for not getting one.

Do yourself a favor and pick it up. Both DBW and VSA are things you will love.

The only drawback is the returnless fuel system which runs out of juice around 400hp. If you're planning on FI with a higher target, add ~$1k to upgrade the fuel system.

No problems at all for me. Having the flashable computer as an option is nice. I crossed shopped the "new" 06 when it came out against used models and preferred the 06.

Nice quoting only half of that text, it certainly wasn't the part about me saying I haven't drivin a 06+ s2000 to compare the typical DBW car to. I have however driven over 30 different cars with DBW which are all absolute garbage.

No big deal though, grats to you're teachers.

No need for everyone to be get offended and whatnot...

But the majority consensus is that the DBW system here is excellent, that VSA is a huge lifesaver (though it can be deactivated if you disagree) and that '06+ s2000s can be modded rather easily...

Now if you really want an argument where there's a debate and not an overall consensus, we can discuss AP1 vs AP2

I have an AP1 and an 06+ AP2. The DBW is very good and I like the VSA for a street driven car.

My 06 S2000 has no delay with DBW. Conversely a friend's 07 SI has noticeable lag with its DBW system. It's clear that Honda cheaped out or did something different with the Civic. With the S2000 it is a non-issue and you get the option for a Flashpro.
