Well, I must give props to Evo for a quick response on this (after the second set of pics). Hopefully, everything pans out.

Kodakan, please keep us informed either way!

I'm at work, so this will be short.

I just received a call on my cell phone from Seipan (sp?), who is the company that manufactures the hood. I spoke to Shawn, who said that he will be calling me back in a few days with some kind of resolution. I don't know what that means, but when I find out, I will let you know.

Mostly, I want to thank all of my peers, here at S2KI for taking the time to post your opinions about this defective hood. For me, the best thing about this website is the support that I have received from all of you.

Because the hood was drop-shipped (to me, directly from the manufacturer), Jeff at Evolution Autosports had no chance to inspect the hood for quality. Therefore, it is not the fault of Evolution, that I received this defective hood. It is, however (IMO), the responsibility of Evolution Autosports, to contact the manufacturer, and make things right.

I tried very hard to only state the facts about the hood, and not bag Jeff, or Evolution. I hope things will be worked out soon. I will keep everyone informed.

Well, I sent photos and info to the defective hood manufacturer over the weekend, as I was instructed.

I haven't heard anything yet, but I will keep you all informed.

My car is being painted this week, so I am pretty sure I won't receive any replacement hood before my car is done.

Actually, I have not been offered a replacement hood, or anything specific, at this point.

If you don't hear back soon...

I would dispute the charge on my credit card until it gets taken care of.

Until the vendor solves the problem, they should not get paid.

I received an e-mail today from the hood manufacturer.

It only said that he would contact me again before Friday.

I'll let you all know what happens.

I think we all collectively shared in the horror of those pics above but it's nice to know the wheels of resolution are turning. I can recall the days of yore BI (before internet) when a situation like this was damn near impossible to resolve. I guess it's worth all the porn spam I get in my inbox daily to be a part of a automotive family that takes care of each other. God bless Al Gore, the father of the internet.

Thanks to all of you for sympathizing with my situation.

I received a call just now from the hood manufacturer (Shawn), who said that the hood will be replaced. It seems like the manufacturer, and Evolution Autosports are going to make things right with this defective hood.

I'm hoping that I will receive the hood by the end of next week. I'm also hoping the condition of the hood will be acceptable. I don't expect the hood to be the same quality as the real Amuse, but I expect it to be good. I think most of the cost for the real Amuse hood is due to the dry carbon fiber construction, which this one doesn't have.

I will keep all of you informed about the situation, and I will certainly post pics of the replacement hood, when it arrives.
