Check this discussion "comparing" the S2000 and C5 Vette. Our own jzr has some good comments.

The amount of misinformation spewed in forum conversations like that is staggering.
The "I hear the 04's have like 260-270hp" comments are beginning to take on mythical status...much like the "everyone knows an Altima SE can beat an S2000, didn't you see the MPEG?" musings created from one race done a few years ago. It took several Altima beatdowns to finally put that nonsense to bed. The S4 hijack was funny though.

It's funny how cbramey flames the S2000 for being "anemic at any speed" then turns around and calls the Z06 "slow".

What type of car does he drive? The Jesus3000 by Goda?

I just read through the conversation at the link above. There are some interesting opinions and stories. One that caught my eye was:
3 years, 75 thousand miles, 20 hard track days, dozens of autocrosses, couple hundred clutch dumps and 12 sets of tires burned through all without a single mechanical problem makes me one happy owner of a stock S2000. Not sure how many C5 owners have experienced the same fun/fixing ratio.
As with any vehicle, there are those who have a lot of trouble and those who don't. Makes me wonder what the difference is between this guys's S2000 (and how he drives it!) and those on the forum who who toast a clutch and/or rear end the first time they attempt a spirited start off the line?

Drive Safe,
Steve R.

well... I think the S2000 would be incredible with an LS6 under it's hood.. it dosn't weight too much more than the F20C1 that's in the S2000 now, but sure would give it one hell of a kick in the pants...

Speak for yourself. I've been thinking about putting my 383 in my S2000 for awhile now.

It would give me an excuse for putting my F20C in my Baby Grand.
