Yeah I did it this weekend. Didn't have WD40 or Goo Gone. It took me forever. It looks great but it was a major pain in my ass. lol

 

I did it, but added classic Honda badges in its place. Not having black outlines helps a lot for the looks. It takes a while, but just be patient and keep working it, and you'll eventually get it clean.

 

agreed with all above comments...just swapped stock chrome for flat black CR-style...I used one of those giant halogen works light to soften the remaining glue and lot of goo gone...a soft plastic paint scraper from Sears makes it pretty easy and won't damage the paint...

 

Thats different, but nice. A subtle change.....looks good!

OP - I had mmy Honda dealer change mine out.....but I think it looks good without the S2000 side badges. Kind of why I went with black emblems on a black car......so they were not so noticeable.

 

i just did mine like 10 days ago.. used about 20-30 feet of dental floss (had the cheap stuff that kept breaking) Goo Gone, and a plastic wall outlet trim panel.

Taking the decals off makes the fender look longer and sleeker. The S was the hardest piece to remove because of the amt of adheisive behind it. And after removing it, I noticed a minute, but noticeable ding behind the S decals as well as some clear coat anomolies from where the decals used to be compared to its surroundings.

nonetheless, I'll probably take it to my PDR guy and have him do his magic to the panels..

Overall, I like it much better than before..

Just use dental floss, triple or double string to make it easier as u cut through the 3M backing. Heating up the emblem should help remove it quicker. paint should not come off unless its a repainted panel. Use ISo Alcohol to remove the gum on the panel.

 

That's probably because you used a wall outlet trim panel.

wow you're lucky---there was a TON of glue I had to take off after I removed mine, and my fingers were sore as hell afterward from all the peeling. I used 3M adhesive remover which helped, but it's still a PITA

I removed them to install the black chrome emblems, and I'm glad that was my intention because the paint had already faded around the emblems to the point that you could see the "ghost" outlines of where the emblems were--and my car is only a year old!
I'd definitely keep that in mind if you plan on debadging for good
