Side jacking question
Same. I usually still use 2 wood pieces of wood to drive over with my front tires to give me a bit of room, but access to the front and rear jack points is super easy with that jack (and the wood). I do use a hockey puck on the jack too to not mar the metal though.
Still, the low profile jacks can be had for $100, even now. Not a huge difference.
I didn't buy a long reach because I didn't need it, but those are still under 150.
I haven't measured the S, because I rent a lift bay instead, but I have a feeling the jack point is lower and farther back than the Toyobaru was...
The point was, front-rear is the safe sequence for lifting the car without tipping the jackstands over and f*cking up the car, and there's many ways to skin the front-rear cat.
If someone was shopping for a jack, they don't have to spend much for a LR/LP that will work. If they already have one that doesn't reach, the spare tire jack can make it possible to use the one they have until they can sell theirs on Craigslist and buy one that works right.
