After reading all these posts,and looking at photos I'm still in the dark so now I must ask.......what the hell is windshield tape?

The electrical black tape on A-pillars and windshield header.

I'm confused now too.

The windshield tape is NOT removed on s2k3132's or William's picture is it?

That's funny...missed something so obvious.

I looked at all of those pictures two or three times. I thought this "black tape" was the black rubber around the windshield.

Has anyone had a problem with ugly or bad paint underneath the window tape? I really like the look without it, looks pretty slick. What's it put there for anyways???
