Slipping on day's first pull-out
Every morning when I first pull out (almost always in the uphill direction) there is a slip, presumably the clutch, but something in the rear end. It doesnt happen except at the start of the day, so that obviously suggests association with a cold engine. Yet it happens as much now as during the winter (such as we have in the BAy Area). Should I be warming up the car? I take off after only 10-15 seconds but shift early and keep the rpms down until it warms up.
Comments?
Also, is there any problem with consistent driving at high rpms 6-8K? I don't seem to find a use for this kind of drivng except a winding road when I can choose to drive high in 2nd or lower in 3rd. On a straightway, I dont see the advantage of using a lower gear and higher rpms. You downshift to pass. The question is, though, any harm to the engine except the increased wear and tear? Is the engine built for sustained high rpm driving?

I hope you're through your brek-in period. I see that you have 5 posts, so it's not obvious...
I'm not a mechainic but I'd say after owning three Honda's that this engine is made to drive like that. If you properly maintain your vehicle, like doing frequent oil changes etc, I don't think you'll have any problems. I wouldn't suggest driving at or around 9K for long periods of time though!
