Default Soft top not working

I just removed the hard top of my car after about 2 months and now the soft top wont move at all. I hear no motor moving or clicking, the roof switch is plugged in correctly. both windows go up and down perfectly fine and the wipers work. The car is turned on, with trans in neutral and hand brake on. I heard there is some safety switch that could be depressed and get stuck when the hard top is on, but I have no idea where that would be. Could someone point that out to me possibly with a picture with a giant red circle and a bunch of arrows pointing to it? I just got the car and it took me like 10 min to find the fuel cap door switch so im very unfamiliar with how this car works lol. someone help me please.

Check under the hood for the softtop fuses. Previous owner may have removed them as a precaution against silly mechanics trying to operate the softtop with the hardtop in place.

I removed mine when I installed my Mugen style hardtop for peace of mind.

Look at where the hardtop rear pins go into the catchers. I believe it's on the driver's side as all the electrics go to that side. Look around the hole where the pin goes in. You should see what looks like a button that the hardtop pushes down when it's on. Probably that button didn't pop back up when the top was taken off. You don't need pictures with arrows pointing to it. It'll be pretty obvious. If the button is already up, trace the wiring under the button to make the wiring connector hasn't come apart. You'll have to remove the interior trim to see it.

well the previous owner put on a cheap mugen rep, not oem hardtop but I dont really see a button. its an 01 if that helps with a new soft top w/glass and rear defrost. I see something that looks like a rubbery bolt for like a 10mm socket or close, but I dont really see anything else in there.
