Default Soft Top Tear

I am starting to receive tear where the crossbeams. So i went out and bought Dr.Schrolls Mole skin Pads and reinforce it on the crossbeam and on the soft top it self so it won't tear it any further.

You guys should try it out. cheap fix before the soft top starts to tear more and make a hole.

Most likely it won't last and you will probably have to eventually buy a new top.

I've tried multiple solutions like that and had the same results, they last maybe a week or two and fall off. The most permanent fix I've gotten is taking it to a convertible top shop and had them patch it. So far the patches have lasted eight months without any problems, but I will eventually have to replace the top. It only cost like $30 for them to patch two holes inside and out, I would recommend just taking it to a shop, it will last much longer.

my dr.schrolls are still attach to my softtop ahah.

no my softtop doesn't have a hole yet, the patch was intended to take the stress from the crossbeam.

I bought a 12"x12" or so piece of top fabric from Honda and cut it into a strip and had my fiance sew it over the hole on the inside. Works pretty well. The only downside is you can see the stitching on the outside of the top. It isn't noticable unless you are looking right at it though.

You can attach the under side patch with 3m super 90 adhesive. worked on my wifes old miata when I patched it. lasted forever(2 1/2 years and then I sold it) Get a good strong patch material maybe from a worn torn top and apply underneath. What ever you do dont use duct tape on the top.
