Haven't you read up on the S2000 at all!? The soft top is made of Brawny paper towels! Do not let it sit in the rain at all!

But seriously, we get about 150 consecutive days of rain in Seattle from late fall through spring - no problem.

I know exactly how you feel daman that's why I went out and ordered my02 for msrp and the hardtop cause of the weird weather here in san francisco. If I were you I would get the hardtop. I mean you can still take it off and enjoy the sunny days! Can't wait till my02 arrives. I still remember that day I test drove it I had a grin the whole time and the guy who let me take the test drive at the dealer even let me push it through vtec as hard as I wanted. I'm glad I'm working with him. good luck on your purchase. All i'm saying is DON'T purchase in san francisco. People around here still don't believe i'm getting it for msrp. I have to drive 200+ miles for my02 but It's worth it!

The top is water repellent and does not soak...
The top is also designed in a way to minimize direct leaking that you'd notice...

Mine is fine so far (fingers crossed!)
It should be fine in the rain.

I remember reading that the top is multilayered, and that the PVC outer layer was embossed to look like it has been woven. So unless there is a hole in your top, it will not leak or get saturated.
