If you want a coupe, why not?
As koala suggested, you should probably keep the soft top, but if you removed it you could do a pretty sweet stereo install with a pair of subs/speakers in the rear tray

wow lots of responses. i was thinking of doing this for track purposes and just for the fact that i thinkhard top looks better. but after considering your guys' opinion, it seems wise to keep my soft top which isnt worth much anyways.
